Richard Smerin
Richard Smerin is from London, England. He is currently living in the south of Germany.

Smerin is a fingerpicking blues guitarist,
as well as being interested in folk music
and contemporary songwriting.

While usually described as 'country blues', Smerin's style incorporates Chicago / electric blues music, played in an acoustic fashion. He has long been enthralled by that particular branch of 'modern' folk guitar picking sometimes described as 'folk baroque' and epitomised in the playing of Bert Jansch. Songwriting has become a large part of Richard Smerin's musical interest and is reflected in recent CDs comprising solely of original material.

Currently, seven CDs and one CD Single are available on Red Rose Records:

Q. - M.U.D. (RR2696) - Solo country blues, recorded in Berlin.

One-Off Chance (RR2777) - Tribute to singer /songwriter and close friend Les French, recorded in Boston, Mass.
